'From Waidale to the World' is the extraordinary story of how God used two ordinary Southland farmers to begin a mission initiative that would grow, multiply and expand to reach around the world.
Harry White and Clarence Gardyne could not have imagined the impact their ideas would have. They simply wanted to find a practical way to support Andrew and Margaret Dunn who were ready to go to PNG but did not have sufficient funds. The two men proposed raising the money by grazing, fattening and selling a few head of stock. Other farmers supported the cause. Less than one year later their target was reached, the Dunn family was farewelled, and in the process something even more significant happened; The Waidale Missionary Trust was established. Fifty years later more than $5 million has been given to support mission.

Looking back
Until 2012 I wrote contributions for publications published by others. My first personal experience and somewhat intrepid foray into the world of publishing, from start to finish, was working with Florence Brown to write and publish her biography Precious Treasure - Clay Pot. It was a success and such a privilege to be a part of sharing her extraordinary stories with others. Her experiences and testimony during twenty five years as a medical missionary in Nepal have touched many lives. [Castle Publishing 2012]
Other published work includes :
The Gift NZ Memories [Issue 84 June/July 2010 ]

EARTHEN CLAY POT
My body;
a clay pot
made from the earth
shaped and moulded
unseen in the depths
fashioned in secret
intricately turned
on a womb-shaped wheel
fired in the kiln of life
for a time
decorated with peculiar experiences
emerging to be a unique vessel
like no other
holding a treasure of being
until one day
cracked and chipped, the vessel shatters
releasing its treasure into eternity
as the earth opens her hands to receive again
my clay pot
my body.
